PERSONAL INJURY PROTECTION (PIP) CLAIMS

Our firm represents medical providers who seek to recover PIP benefits from insurance carriers that their patients have assigned to them after receiving treatment forinjuries sustained as a result of an automobile accident.

WHAT IS PERSONAL INJURY PROTECTION (PIP)?

Personal Injury Protection (PIP) insurance coverage helps injured individuals recover their medical expensesand lost wages associated with a car accident. PIP coverage is mandatory in the State of Florida. Florida is a No-Fault State, which means that regardless of who is at fault for the accident, everyone involved in the accident is required to file a claim with their own insurance company first.

WHAT DOES PIP COVER?

PIP insurance benefits often cover, after payment of the applicable deductible, 80% of medical bills (including out-of-pocket prescription costs, dental expenses, and rehabilitation services); 60% of lost wages; $5,000 worth of death benefits (which are in addition to the medical and disability benefits provided under the policy).

When receiving treatment for personal injuries suffered in a car accident, individuals will be asked to sign an Assignment of Benefits (AOB) form with their medical providers. This form allows the medical provider to later recover directly from the individual’s auto car insurance for services provided. However, it is important to remember that in order to be successful in recovering these claims against the insurance companies, the treatment or initial visit with the medical provider must have happened within 14 days of the accident.

Unfortunately, even after the insureds pay their PIP insurance premiums when medical providers file claims against their patients’ insurance carriers for treatment rendered, such claims often get unfairly denied or underpaid.

HOW CAN WE HELP?

Our firm helps medical offices recover for PIP claims from the initial phases of the process which often starts with a Demand Letter to the insurance carrier, until the end of the litigation proceeding.

We assist medical providers whose claims for medical services have been denied, delayed, or underpaid by the insurance carriers in recovering such bills for services rendered to car accident victims. Our goal is to get you the maximum compensation for your claim. We are passionate about what we do because we understand the impact of denied claims on medical providers.

If you are a medical provider, call us at 305-901-2782 for a free review of your outstanding medical bills and your Assignment of Benefits form. We only get paid for PIP cases if we win, which means that you don’t need to worry about paying our fees or costs upfront because we get reimbursed by the insurance carrier at the end of the case if we succeed.
